DFW Therapies

Here at DFW Therapies for Special Needs and Geriatrics, every session is specifically tailored to address various “dis- ease” processes you are experiencing. We offer five basic therapeutic options to be utilized conjunctively with your request to provide a client-centered approach to your individual needs.

These techniques address the various aches, pain, and injuries caused by everyday life-whether you are a child with a mental, physical, or behavioral abnormality or a seasoned client coping with the side effects of life filled with prescribed medications and a restricted lifestyle. We’ll assess your specific needs and use a variety of massage techniques (Swedish, deep tissue, lymphatic drainage, etc) to help address those needs. These techniques increase circulation, detoxify cells and release tension. Suitable for individuals with health challenges such as ALS, ADD/ADHD, anxiety disorders, asthma, arthritic disorders, seizures, chronic fatigue, chronic pain, tremors, postural deviations, and more. Deeper and stronger manual strokes allow our therapist to target sore or overworked muscle groups more effectively. This therapy not only helps to improve workout recovery time, it also prevents muscle tension and tightness. Utilizing these therapies, we help alleviate muscle tension, inflammation, associated pain, and even break up scar tissue by loosening the tight tissue clusters and increasing the blood flow.

Sports Therapy

Repair muscles injured by over doing exercise or sports. Using a combination of deep tissue, stretching and Swedish techniques our therapist will zero in on each zone of distress and release the area of discomfort. Benefits include increased flexibility and range of motion (ROM) and prevention of further injury. This modality is suitable for all of you “SPECIAL OLYMPIANS” out there. We encourage arthritic, bedbound clients, and those with limited ROM due to other disease processes to seek this therapy technique.

Raindrop Therapy

A healing technique using pure essential oils. Combining aromatherapy, reflexology, massage and moist heat to create healing and cleansing through structural and electrical alignment to the body. Restores total balance, harmony and body wellness. Boosts the immune system and extremely beneficial at the start of a cold. A unique style of manual therapy that successfully and delightfully engages the senses while accompanying the relaxing strokes of Swedish therapy. This may be the ultimate combination of therapy for relaxation. Although the entire body is massaged, this treatment is superb for neck and back pain. We encourage those with brain traumas or cerebral ailments to seek this therapy technique.

Benevolence Therapy

This service provide individuals with ailments such as Alzheimer’s/Dementia, chemotherapy clients, and those on hospice with additional time to engage in extracurricular activities such as board games, light stretching, book reading, crosswords, make-overs, and more to improve quality of life. We encourage family members to utilize this therapy for a few hours to have time to rejuvenate themselves while caring for their loved ones. With a maximum of five hours, this provides ample time to complete various necessities outside of the home or facility. Rest assured and know that DFW Therapies for Special needs and Geriatrics strongly believe that the quality of life is what you make of it and fellowship is always good for the heart. Family members, care providers, individuals in assisted living facilities and long-term nursing/group homes are encouraged to utilize this therapy.

Chair Therapy

Unlike our other techniques, you are fully clothed during a chair massage. A chair massage is a style of massage that uses similar techniques to our traditional massages but is performed with the client in a seated position. We provide special chairs with cradles that allow you to fully relax face down with your arms supported by armrests so that your back, neck, shoulders and arms are fully accessible to your therapist. Chair massage techniques include a mixture of modalities such as Swedish and deep tissue are helpful in relieving muscle tension in the body without all the fuss of a traditional session.
